Before beginning to fundraise for this friendship, I brainstormed the following ideas:
- Some sort of clothes selling, like during this best buddies month any AC apparel you buy from the wolf den has a portion go to best buddies
- Loom video on how to donate
- History of autistic characters in movies
- Movie night (could also be in person if possible) ($5 dollar enter fee) ideas at this link
- Restaurant Fundraiser: Partner with fave place for a percentage of sales to go to your group during a designated day, then promote the restaurant and event to your crew via social media and the other communication channels you use. Be sure to choose a restaurant that is set up for to-go orders! (Panda Express makes it really easy to raise funds for your organization, school or group and gives you 20% of the earnings.)
- Raffle: First things first, check with your municipality for rules on hosting raffles, as some consider it gambling. If it’s okay to proceed, ask local businesses for prize donations in exchange for free marketing – think restaurant gift cards, popular products, free services (pest control, HVAC evaluation, etc.) – and publicize these prizes on the Events Page of your website and/or via your social media channels. Announce the date of your drawing and require participants to pay $1 for each entry they submit. (If you don’t have a payment system set up on your website, use SignUp to collect the money.) Send electronic certificates to winners for services won and use SignUp to coordinate pick up times for physical prizes
In person
- Bake sale (but how?), pre packaged food perhaps
- Raffle for best buddies gear/AC merch, if we also do the movie viewing one of the Prizes can be free admission
- Sell pins , pencils (home made) or merch (best buddies allies merch)
Eventually I narrowed these ideas down to pins and the panda express ideas.
Heres a poster with the pin designs on it:

Very little money was raised this best buddies friendship walk because I was working alone.
Heres what the slice it falls in:
