For my second may term in my ninth grade year I took the Science of Wellbeing May term based off a Coursera course. The course was about the science of happiness and a how were are not born wired for our maximum amount of happiness. We often lose happiness due to things like social comparisons, mis-wanting, and other catches. In the may term due to the condensed nature (four days) we did not look at all the course material but we did learn enough to understand the benefits of mindfulness, savoring, and other practices like this to understand the psychical benefits, as well as the psychological benefits.
Over the summer I would really like to take the full Coursera course and figure out a way to add some mindful practices to my schedule and help teach this class to other kids that need more happiness in our lives.
