Youth Healing Hate Group

Near the end of the school year I joined a new group at my school called the youth healing hate group. The youth healing hate group in our school was funded on a grant from the Gandhi institute. The groups goal was to educate the student population on restorative methods and how we could implement them in our school with to help our peers.

Restorative justice and methods attempt to repair the harm causes by the crime. These methods emphasize accountability, making amends and facilitated meetings between victims, offenders, and other personsRestorative methods often emphasizes accountability, making amends, and -if they are interested- facilitated meetings between victims, offenders and other persons. Through having conversations about what happened and talking from your perspective restorative justice helps people see and understand all sides of the issue and can lead to nonviolent resolutions to these issues. Overall restorative justice can lead to the transformation of people, relationships and communities

The work to implement restorative practices in our school was not done during the course of this may term as there was too little time. But did work on this goal during may term as can be seen in a later post found here.
